Industrial Textured Painting Workshop

Industrial Textured Painting Workshop

I don't usually like abstract styles but I'm currently obsessed with this industrial urban decay approach to abstract paintings.

What does "industrial urban decay" mean? They are paintings with lots of odd textures, designed to look like old buildings or items that have been left to the elements and end up rusted, rough with incredible textures. The colors can be very unusual and fun to play with.

These paintings start with a layer of modeling paste to create a base texture. Then sand and other things are done to create a more three dimensional feeling to the painting. Then it's all about choosing colors that reflect that urban decay/industrial feel.

This will push you way out of your comfort zone!

I will guide you as to how to apply the textures and recommend colors, but honestly, you can totally make these paintings your own. I'll just make sure you're making intelligent choices for surface texture and color. The rest is up to you!
